About YerelNET

YerelNET is a Local Government Portal established and managed by the Public Administration Institute of Turkey and the Middle East ( TODAIE ) , one of the most prestigious institutions in Turkey, between 2000 and 2018. Unfortunately, it was closed in 2018 with the Statutory Decree No. 703 and its students were transferred to Hacı Bayram Veli University.

Following the closure of TODAIE, the www.yerelnet.org.tr website, which was established to promote and provide information about local governments in Turkey, was also closed. In 2020 , re-established by a non-profit group of education lovers, yerelnet.org.tr was reopened under the brands Yerel Net Association and YerelNET.

YerelNET Association : It is a non-profit organization established to provide the opportunity to promote Turkey's popular tourism destinations, historical and cultural richness, businesses providing accommodation and food and beverage services, and cultural and artistic events in written and visual media both at home and abroad.

YerelNET has closed down and changed its name to Local Guide .

About Local Guide

When YerelNET was re-established in 2020, it was "established to provide the opportunity to introduce our country both domestically and internationally in written and visual media". Undoubtedly, it has undergone a great evolution in 2 years, reaching millions domestically and introducing itself. However, this success is not enough for us and as we stated in our vision, we wanted to introduce our country abroad as well.

Local Guide : It is an agency established to provide the opportunity to introduce Turkey's popular tourism destinations, historical and cultural richness, accommodation and food and beverage service providers, cultural and artistic events in written and visual media both domestically and internationally. It is also a platform where Tourist Guides and Local Guides in our country are listed and provide services.

In this context, we started to do the necessary infrastructure and branding work to go abroad. We knew that we had to leave the org.tr domain name and move to a global .com domain name. We did research for a long time to find the appropriate brand and domain name and purchased the yerelrehber.com domain name.

We decided to continue broadcasting with our new brand by moving the domain name yerelnet.org.tr to yerelrehber.com at the end of the first quarter of 2023 .

YerelNET will now continue its broadcasting life in Turkey under the name Local Guide , and globally under the name Local Guide Turkey . It will also continue its broadcasting life with Local Guide Mobile Applications in stores such as Google Play, Apple Store, etc.
